Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 4 (5oz) cans albacore tuna in water, well drained
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup diced red onion
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- Juice of 1 lemon (about 2 tablespoons)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Combine the dressing ingredients: In a mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise, diced red onion, dried cranberries, lemon juice, salt, and chopped walnuts. Stir well to evenly mix all the flavors together.
- Add the tuna: Drain the albacore tuna thoroughly and add it to the bowl with the dressing mixture. Gently fold everything together until the tuna is well coated with the mixture.
- Serve or store: Serve the tuna salad immediately for the freshest flavor, or transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate. It will keep well for 3 to 5 days.
Notes
- For an extra crunch, you can toast the walnuts lightly before adding them.
- Adjust the amount of mayonnaise to your preferred creaminess level.
- Serve on a bed of lettuce, in sandwiches, or with crackers for variety.
- Make sure to fully drain the tuna to avoid a watery salad.
