Description

Pineapple Dream Dessert is a luscious layered treat featuring a buttery graham cracker crust, a creamy sweetened cream cheese layer, and a fluffy pineapple and whipped topping mix, finished with a crunchy graham cracker crumb topping. Perfectly chilled for a refreshing, fruity indulgence that serves well for gatherings and potlucks.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 2½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

Filling

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup Cool Whip (or whipped topping)
  • 1 large can (2½ cups) crushed pineapple, well drained

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 300°F (148°C) to prepare for baking the crust.
  2. Prepare Crust: In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs with melted butter until evenly mixed. Press 2 cups of this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×9 inch baking dish. Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden. Remove and let cool completely.
  3. Make Cream Cheese Layer: Beat softened cream cheese and softened butter together until smooth and creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar while continuing to beat until fully blended and smooth.
  4. Assemble Cream Cheese Layer: Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled graham cracker crust, smoothing the surface with a spatula for an even layer.
  5. Prepare Pineapple Topping: In a separate bowl, mix the remaining drained crushed pineapple with the Cool Whip until well combined.
  6. Add Pineapple Layer: Spread the pineapple and Cool Whip mixture evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  7. Top with Graham Crumbs: Sprinkle the remaining graham cracker crumbs on top to add a crunchy finishing touch.
  8. Chill to Set: Refrigerate the assembled dessert for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight to allow the layers to firm up and flavors to meld.
  9. Serve: Slice into squares and enjoy this creamy, fruity delight chilled.

Notes

  • Ensure the crushed pineapple is well drained to prevent excess moisture making the dessert soggy.
  • Softened butter and cream cheese should be at room temperature for easier mixing and smooth texture.
  • Use full-fat cream cheese and butter for best flavor and texture.
  • This dessert is best served chilled and can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For added texture, consider adding chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts to the crust mixture before baking.
