Description

Pepperoni Pizza Tacos are a delicious fusion of two favorite foods – pizza and tacos. These crispy taco shells are filled with rich pizza sauce, melted mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, and topped with savory pepperoni slices and aromatic herbs, baked to perfection for an easy, crowd-pleasing meal or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Tacos

  • 8 small taco shells (soft or hard, your choice)
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 20-25 slices of pepperoni
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)
  • Fresh basil (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the tacos.
  2. Prepare the taco shells: If using soft taco shells, lightly brush each taco shell with olive oil and place them in the oven for 5-7 minutes to crisp them up. For hard taco shells, this step can be skipped.
  3. Assemble the tacos: Spread a spoonful of pizza sauce inside the bottom of each taco shell. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce, add a few pepperoni slices, then sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the pepperoni. Finish by sprinkling dried oregano and garlic powder evenly over each taco.
  4. Bake the tacos: Place the assembled tacos on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and the taco shells are golden and crispy.
  5. Serve: Remove the tacos from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired. Serve immediately to enjoy the warm, melty pepperoni pizza tacos.

Notes

  • The choice of soft or hard taco shells depends on your preference for texture.
  • For extra flavor, try adding sliced black olives or green peppers before baking.
  • Use fresh herbs like basil or oregano as garnish for added aroma and taste.
  • To make the shells extra crispy, brush with olive oil even if using hard shells and bake briefly.
  • Leftover tacos can be reheated in the oven to maintain crispiness.
