Cookies:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs

- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ¾ cup crushed peppermint candies or candy canes
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and extracts: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in the vanilla and peppermint extracts.
- Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine wet and dry mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
- Stir in chips and candies: Fold in the chocolate chips and crushed peppermint candies.
- Bake: Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 9–11 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Cool: Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For extra festive flair, press a few extra chocolate chips and peppermint bits on top of the dough balls before baking.
