  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed

  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup crushed peppermint candies or candy canes


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs and extracts: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in the vanilla and peppermint extracts.
  4. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Combine wet and dry mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  6. Stir in chips and candies: Fold in the chocolate chips and crushed peppermint candies.
  7. Bake: Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 9–11 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Cool: Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
