Scale
Main Ingredients
- 4 cups frozen mango
- 1 cup cold water
- â…“ cup granulated sugar
- â…“ cup fresh lime juice
- 2 cups crushed ice
- 1 cup diced fresh mango
- 6 slices fresh mango
For Serving and Garnish
- Chamoy juice for serving
- Tajin seasoning
- Tamarind straw lollipops
- Pulparindo candies, cut into pieces
Instructions
- Blend Mango Mixture: Add the frozen mango, cold water, granulated sugar, and fresh lime juice into a blender. Blend all the ingredients until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.
- Prepare the Glass Rims: Pour about ¼ cup of chamoy onto one plate and ¼ cup of tajin seasoning onto a separate plate. Dip the rim of each serving glass first into the chamoy, then into the tajin to coat the edges thoroughly.
- Add Chamoy and Ice: Drizzle some chamoy along the bottom and sides of each glass to create a decorative effect. Add a layer of crushed ice to the bottom of the glasses.
- Fill Half with Mango Drink: Pour the mango blend into the glasses until they are half full, taking care not to disturb the chamoy and tajin decoration inside the glass.
- Add Mango, Chamoy, and Tajin Layers: Sprinkle diced fresh mango over the mango drink layer, then drizzle more chamoy and sprinkle a pinch of tajin seasoning. This layering adds texture and enhances the flavor complexity.
- Fill Glass with Remaining Mango Blend: Pour the rest of the mango drink into the glasses, filling them almost to the top.
- Final Garnish: Drizzle additional chamoy on top and add a dash of tajin seasoning. Garnish each glass with fresh mango slices, tamarind straw lollipops, and pieces of pulparindo candies for an authentic and festive touch.
- Serve Immediately: Repeat all steps for the second serving and serve the mangonadas right away for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Use frozen mango instead of fresh to achieve the perfect slushy texture.
- Chamoy and tajin contribute a distinctive spicy and tangy flavor; adjust amounts to taste if less heat is desired.
- If fresh mango is not available, substitute with canned or frozen diced mango.
- Serve immediately after assembly to maintain the texture of the crushed ice and garnish.
- For a less sweet version, reduce the sugar slightly or omit according to preference.
