Description

A zesty and creamy Jalapeno Slaw combining fresh cabbage, onions, jalapenos, and cilantro tossed in a tangy dressing made with mayo, sour cream, and lime juice. Perfect as a spicy side dish or topping for tacos and sandwiches.

Ingredients

Scale

Slaw Dressing

  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Black pepper, to taste

Slaw Mix

  • 14-16 ounces coleslaw mix or finely shredded cabbage
  • 1/3 cup chopped red onions
  • 1-2 jalapeno peppers, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Prepare Dressing: In a fairly large mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, lime juice, salt, and black pepper. Whisk the ingredients together until the dressing is smooth and creamy.
  2. Add Vegetables: Add the coleslaw mix or shredded cabbage, chopped red onions, finely chopped jalapenos, and fresh cilantro to the bowl with the dressing.
  3. Toss Ingredients: Gently toss all ingredients together until the cabbage mixture is thoroughly coated with the dressing and evenly mixed.

Notes

  • Adjust the number of jalapenos to control the spiciness of the slaw.
  • For a milder version, remove the seeds from the jalapenos before chopping.
  • Serve chilled for best flavor and texture.
  • Great as a topping for grilled meats or as a refreshing side salad.
