Ingredients
Scale
Strawberry Layer
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, finely chopped
Milk Mixture
- ½ cup cold milk
- 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon heavy cream (optional, for richness)
- 1–2 teaspoons sugar (optional, based on strawberry sweetness)
Garnishes
- Crushed pistachios
- Desiccated coconut
- Extra drizzle of condensed milk
- Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Prepare the Strawberries: Wash and finely chop the fresh strawberries. The smaller the pieces, the better the texture in the final dessert.
- Make the Milk Mixture: In a bowl, combine cold milk, sweetened condensed milk, and heavy cream if using. Add sugar to taste based on the sweetness of the strawberries, and stir until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
- Assemble the Cups: Layer the chopped strawberries into clear cups or dessert glasses. Pour some of the milk mixture over the strawberries. Repeat layering until the glasses are filled, finishing with the milk mixture on top.
- Garnish and Chill: Sprinkle crushed pistachios and desiccated coconut over the top, and drizzle with additional condensed milk if desired. Chill the assembled desserts in the refrigerator for 20 to 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld and to ensure a refreshing taste.
- Serve Cold: Serve the dessert chilled, optionally topped with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for added indulgence. This dessert works well as a light, fruity reminder to enjoy summer’s sweetness anytime.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of sugar based on the natural sweetness of the strawberries to avoid overpowering sweetness.
- The heavy cream is optional but adds richness and creaminess to the milk mixture.
- Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best flavor and texture.
- The dessert is best served cold and consumed within a day for optimal freshness.
- Can be easily doubled or tripled depending on the number of servings needed.
