Ingredients
Scale
For the Steak:
- 1½ lbs sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Rice:
- 1 cup long-grain white rice, uncooked
- 2 cups beef broth
- ¼ cup honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Steak: Season the steak pieces with salt and pepper. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil. Sear the steak for 2–3 minutes per side until browned but not fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
- Cook the Rice: In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of butter and sauté garlic. Stir in rice and toast. Add beef broth, honey, and soy sauce. Simmer, then cover and cook for 15–18 minutes until rice is tender.
- Finish the Dish: Return steak to the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes until cooked through. Stir in remaining butter. Garnish with parsley and red pepper flakes. Serve hot.
Notes
- You can substitute sirloin with ribeye or strip steak.
- Add steamed broccoli or snap peas for a complete meal.
- Use low-sodium soy sauce to control salt levels.
