Scale

Dog Treat Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-natural peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup 100% pumpkin puree
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup oat flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Combine Ingredients: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In the bowl of a food processor or blender, pulse together the peanut butter, pumpkin puree, eggs, oat flour, and whole wheat flour until a thick, paste-like dough forms.
  2. Shape the Dough: Press the dough evenly into a pre-shaped baking pan or roll it out between two sheets of wax paper. Use cookie cutters to cut the dough into desired shapes for your dog treats.
  3. Bake the Treats: Bake the treats in the oven for 20 to 30 minutes. After 20 minutes, the treats will be browned and crispy on the outside but still soft inside. For a fully crunchy texture throughout, bake a little longer until desired doneness is achieved.
  4. Cool and Store: Allow the treats to cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, transfer them to an airtight container to keep fresh until serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the peanut butter used does not contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
  • Use 100% pure pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling, to avoid added sugars and spices harmful to dogs.
  • Store treats in an airtight container and use within 2 weeks or freeze for longer storage.
  • If your dog has allergies, substitute flours accordingly, for example using rice flour instead of whole wheat.
