  • 1 red bell pepper (chopped)
  • 2 celery stalks (sliced)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

Grains and Liquids:

  • 2 cups long-grain white rice (uncooked)
  • 4 cups beef or chicken broth (low-sodium)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook Meat: Brown ground beef and sausage in a large oven-safe skillet. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Sauté Veggies: Add onion, bell peppers, celery, and garlic. Sauté until softened.
  4. Season: Stir in thyme, paprika, black pepper, and salt.
  5. Add Rice and Liquids: Mix in uncooked rice, broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well.
  6. Bake: Simmer mixture, cover, and bake for 35–40 minutes until rice is tender.
  7. Fluff and Serve: Fluff rice with a fork and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can use brown rice, adjusting cooking time and liquid amount accordingly.
