Shrimp:
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails on or off)
Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 5 garlic cloves, minced
- ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- ½ cup dry white wine or chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Garnish/Serving:
- Grated Parmesan cheese for garnish (optional)
- Cooked linguine or angel hair pasta (optional for serving)
Instructions
- Cook Shrimp: Heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- Make Sauce: In the same skillet, add remaining butter and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute, add red pepper flakes if using. Pour in wine/broth, simmer for 2–3 minutes. Add lemon juice, zest, return shrimp to pan, toss to coat and heat through.
- Finish and Serve: Sprinkle with parsley, serve immediately as is or over pasta. Garnish with Parmesan if desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use a splash of cream in the sauce.
- Serve with crusty bread to soak up the garlic butter sauce.
