Description

These Easy Pepperoni Rolls are a delicious and kid-friendly appetizer perfect for game days or snacks. Made with simple refrigerated pizza dough rolled up with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and Italian seasoning, then baked until golden and bubbly. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping to enjoy a classic flavor combo that’s quick and satisfying.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough and Filling

  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough (13.8 oz)
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

Topping

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

For serving

  • Marinara sauce, for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Oven and Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Roll Out Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle approximately 12 by 8 inches, providing a base for the filling.
  3. Add Toppings: Evenly sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the dough, then layer with sliced pepperoni. Lightly sprinkle the Italian seasoning for added flavor.
  4. Form Roll: Starting from the long side, tightly roll the dough into a log shape. Pinch the seam to seal the edges and place the roll seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Slice into Rolls: Using a sharp knife, slice the rolled log into 1-inch thick pieces and arrange them cut-side up spaced slightly apart on the baking sheet.
  6. Brush with Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter with garlic powder. Brush this mixture generously over the tops of each roll to enhance flavor and browning.
  7. Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 15–18 minutes, or until they are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving warm. Optionally, serve with marinara sauce for dipping to add a savory tang.

Notes

  • You can substitute crescent dough or homemade pizza dough if preferred.
  • Add a few banana pepper slices or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes inside the rolls for a spicy twist.
