Description

A comforting and easy Crock Pot Chicken and Gravy recipe featuring tender chicken breasts slow-cooked in a flavorful gravy made with cream of chicken soup, chicken gravy mix, and seasonings. Perfect served over mashed potatoes or rice for a hearty family meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Base Ingredients

  • 1 cup diced yellow onions
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Gravy Ingredients

  • 10.5 oz can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 2 packets chicken gravy mix
  • â…“ cup water
  • ½ teaspoon ground sage
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon parsley flakes

Instructions

  1. Prep Crock Pot: Spray the inside of the Crock Pot with cooking spray to prevent sticking and make cleaning easier.
  2. Layer Ingredients: Place the diced yellow onions at the bottom of the Crock Pot, then arrange the boneless, skinless chicken breasts in a single layer on top of the onions.
  3. Make Gravy: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the condensed cream of chicken soup, chicken gravy mix packets, water, ground sage, black pepper, and parsley flakes until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  4. Pour and Cook: Pour the prepared gravy mixture evenly over the chicken breasts in the Crock Pot. Cover with the lid and cook on LOW heat for 5 hours to allow the chicken to become tender and infused with flavors.
  5. Shred and Serve: After cooking, remove the lid and stir the chicken and gravy together, breaking apart the chicken breasts with the spoon or fork. Serve the chicken and gravy hot over mashed potatoes or rice for a complete meal.

Notes

  • For thicker gravy, you can cook uncovered for the last 15-20 minutes to reduce excess liquid.
  • Using fresh herbs instead of dried parsley flakes can enhance the flavor.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated gently on the stovetop or microwave.
  • This recipe is great for meal prepping and can be doubled for larger gatherings.
