Description

  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup water

For the Biscuit Base:

  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough

For the Creamy Layer:

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 1 bell pepper (chopped)
  • 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chiles (drained)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For Garnish:

  • Chopped green onions or cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook Beef: Brown ground beef in a skillet, drain excess grease, add taco seasoning and water, simmer until thickened.
  3. Prepare Biscuit Base: Press biscuit dough into the baking dish, bake until partially set.
  4. Make Creamy Layer: Mix sour cream, mayonnaise, cheeses, garlic powder, and pepper in a bowl.
  5. Layer Casserole: Spread beef over biscuit base, top with tomatoes, onions, bell pepper, and the creamy mixture. Finish with remaining cheddar cheese.
  6. Bake: Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until golden and bubbly. Rest before slicing.
