Description

Delightful Banana Split Bites offer a fun and easy twist on the classic banana split dessert. Ripe bananas are dipped in melted milk chocolate, coated with colorful sprinkles, and topped with whipped topping and a maraschino cherry. These bite-sized treats are perfect for parties, snacks, or a sweet indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale

Banana Split Bites Ingredients

  • 3 Ripe Bananas
  • 1 (8 oz) Cool Whip (original or fat free)
  • 1 Jar Maraschino Cherries
  • Milk Chocolate Candy Discs (enough to melt for dipping)
  • Sprinkles (for coating)
  • Toothpicks (for handling, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Bananas: Start by peeling the bananas and cutting them into 2-3 inch pieces to create the perfect bite-sized portions for dipping and decorating.
  2. Melt Chocolate: Melt the milk chocolate candy discs according to the package directions until smooth for easy dipping.
  3. Dip Bananas: Dip each banana piece halfway up into the melted chocolate, ensuring a smooth coating that covers one side.
  4. Add Sprinkles: Immediately dip the chocolate-coated end into sprinkles, coating well to add color and texture.
  5. Set to Harden: Place the dipped banana pieces on a tray and let them set for about 10 minutes until the chocolate hardens and coating is firm.
  6. Pipe Whipped Topping: Transfer the whipped topping into a piping bag or a plastic sandwich bag with a small corner snipped off, then pipe a small dollop on top of each banana piece.
  7. Top with Cherry: Place a maraschino cherry on top of each whipped topping dollop to complete the classic banana split look.

Notes

  • You can use either original or fat-free Cool Whip depending on your preference or dietary needs.
  • Ensure the bananas are ripe but firm to hold shape while dipping.
  • Work quickly when dipping bananas to prevent them from becoming too soft.
  • Use toothpicks to handle bananas while dipping if desired for ease and to avoid mess.
  • These bites are best served fresh but can be stored briefly in the refrigerator.
