Description

This Asian Salmon in Foil recipe is a quick and flavorful way to enjoy tender, perfectly cooked salmon with an Asian-inspired twist. The salmon is marinated in a delicious mixture of soy sauce, honey, and aromatic seasonings, then baked in foil packets for a moist and succulent result. Serve this dish with a squeeze of fresh lime for a bright finish.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon:

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)

Marinade:

  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)

Garnish:

  • 1 tablespoon green onions (sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Additional:

  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, and sriracha if using.
  3. Assemble the foil packets: Place each salmon fillet on a large piece of aluminum foil. Season with salt and pepper. Pour the marinade evenly over each fillet. Fold and seal the foil packets.
  4. Bake the salmon: Place the foil packets on a baking sheet and bake for 15–18 minutes until the salmon is cooked through.
  5. Garnish and serve: Open the packets, garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve with lime wedges.

Notes

  • For enhanced flavor, marinate the salmon in the sauce for 20–30 minutes before baking.
  • Pair with rice, quinoa, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
