Ingredients
Scale
Steak Bites
- 1½ pounds sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Honey BBQ Sauce
- â…“ cup honey
- ¼ cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and allow it to preheat for 3 to 5 minutes to ensure even cooking.
- Season the Steak Bites: In a large bowl, toss the cubed sirloin steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and olive oil until all pieces are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
- Prepare the Honey BBQ Sauce: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the honey, BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and crushed red pepper flakes if using. Stir well and let it simmer for 2 to 3 minutes to blend flavors. Remove from heat.
- Cook the Steak Bites: Arrange the seasoned steak bites in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even browning, until the steak bites are nicely browned and cooked to your preferred doneness.
- Toss in Sauce and Serve: Transfer the hot steak bites to a clean bowl and pour the warm tangy honey BBQ sauce over them. Toss thoroughly to coat all pieces evenly. Serve immediately with toothpicks for easy snacking or over rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables for a hearty meal.
Notes
- For medium-rare doneness, check the steak bites around 7 to 8 minutes into cooking.
- You can substitute sirloin with other steak cuts such as ribeye or strip steak, adjusting cooking time as needed.
- Adjust the sweetness or spiciness of the sauce by modifying the amounts of honey and red pepper flakes.
- Use gluten-free BBQ sauce to keep the recipe gluten-free.
